Madison Playwright’s work premiers in Camagüey

Last November, the work of two Camagüeyano artists was exhibited at Edgewood College’s DeRicci Gallery under the sponsorship of MCSCA. In early August, the artistic exchange between our sister cities moved in a southerly direction when the staging of Bob Skloot’s play IF THE WHOLE BODY DIES: RAPHAEL LEMKIN AND THE TREATY AGAINST GENOCIDE made its Spanish-language premiere at the Escuela de Artes in Camaguey.

Madison Camagüey Benefit at the Majestic 11/25 9PM

Billed as Latin Music Fest 2, this year’s event will feature performances by local Latin music bands Mambo Blue, Tony Castaneda Latin Jazz Band and Grupo Candela. Also on the program will be the premiere of Madison’s first charanga group Charanga Agoza.
