MCSCA Announces New Environmental Education Project in Wisconsin and Central Cuba

This project, funded by the Christopher Reynolds Foundation and sponsored by the MCSCA, aims to connect students from throughout the Madison and greater Wisconsin community with children living in the Gran Humedal del Norte region of central Cuba.  Both Wisconsin and the Gran Humedal hosts important breeding populations of Sandhill Cranes, which can be used as a common denominator by which children learn about environmental issues facing both countries.  The Cuban Sandhill Crane is an endangered and endemic subspecies of Sandhill Crane, found only in Cuba and the neighboring municipality of the Isle of Youth.…

Camagüey, Heavy Metal City

Camagüey will become the hub of the rock circuit of the country when it
becomes the headquarters of a number of bands from several provinces of the
island metal defending the Cuban heavy metal flag in the 7th National Rock
Festival, Sounds of the City, organized by the Hermanos Saiz Association and
