Camagüey, located in the center of the Island of Cuba about eight hours east of Havana, is a city of intense cultural activity. Over the second half of the last century, it has developed and hosted an enormous number of festivals, workshops and symposia which, together with the growing number of art schools, universities y other institutions, have fostered a vibrant avant-garde spirit in our culture concentrated in Camagüey’s visual art movement.

It is from this creative energy that the important Video-Arts Festival was conceived, unique in its class in the country, nurturing the creative efforts of artists, intellectuals and the community as a whole.

Our Organizing Committee seeks the participation of all the artists been interested in participating.   Because of our limited budget we will not be able to cover travel and lodging expenses.    We have, however, made arrangements with hotels and various other institutions to minimize these by offering preferential rates for lodging.

Camagüey, ciudad situada al centro de la isla de Cuba y a 500  kilómetros de su capital La Habana, ha sido tradicionalmente portadora de una intensa vida cultural. Desde la segunda mitad del siglo XX, se ha generado un movimiento de festivales, talleres y coloquios, que unido a la aparición de escuelas de formación artística, universidades y otras instituciones, ha contribuido a consolidar un espíritu de vanguardia dentro de la cultura y especialmente dentro de las artes visuales en el territorio, de allí que el surgimiento y desarrollo de este importante Festival, único en  su género en el país, ha venido a consolidar esta voluntad de vanguardia de los intelectuales, artistas y de sus habitantes en general.
Nuestro Comité Organizador  desea la participación de todos los artistas interesados en el Festival, pero nuestro evento es modesto, lamentamos  mucho  no poder cubrir el costo de viaje hacia Cuba y todos los gastos de estancia. Sin embargo hemos realizado coordinaciones con instituciones para minimizar al máximo los mismos y ofrecer precios preferenciales de alojamiento.
