On the value of lifting the travel ban

A great article by Margarita Alarcon.  There are many reasons for which the travel ban has a negative effect.   This article focuses on the hindrance it poses on people-to-people exchange that would bring two countries who have such strongly interlocked histories together.

The Madison-Camagüey Sister City Association will have another wine tasting and silent auction on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 (mark the date!) and we’re already in the planning stages.  As we have done the last two years, the event will be held at the newly-reopened (and refurbished) Cardinal Bar.
I am writing to ask that you consider making a donation to the silent auction.
