Wisconsin Medical Project’s travel license has been renewed

The travel license for the Wisconsin Medical Project has been approved through July 31, 2010.  The first license was issued in 2004.  Since then, it has been renewed each year allowing the medical project to send an average of three delegations per year and eight 40 ft seagoing containers.  Dr. Bernie Micke, president of the Medical Project, said, “The renewal allows us to maintain our relationships with the doctors and the health care community in Camagüey and to continue supporting their hospitals, clinics and medical facilities”.



Ricardo Gonzalez to resume control of the Cardinal

The first U.S.-Cuba encounter described as “successful”

The United States and Cuba have concluded their first meeting this Tuesday on migration  issues with a favorable outcome described by both sides as “fruitful.”  This first encounter  addressed ways to achieve a safe, legal and orderly flow in the migration between both countries.

“The U.S.  sees these conversations as a means to achieve practical and positive results that will contribute to bringing about accords” on matters of migration, according to a press release made after the completion of the meeting which took place in New York.

For Jacinto Jaime García his 1922 Ford Model T is something more than a vintage car; it is much more personal than his own name since this car has belonged to the patrimony of the family for many years, once his father drove it home in 1944.

There isn’t any crack nor fault on the car that Jaime doesn’t recognize. Mechanic and lathe operator, Jaime García is like the personal doctor of his own car, that he maintains and cares like a jewel from India.
